Personal: I have been a resident of Falmouth since 2015. My husband and I were married at the chapel on Cousins Island in 2012. Our daughter is an eager learner; thriving at Falmouth Elementary (and is also my campaign manager!).
Professional: I am a business owner with my own public relations firm, Seva. My client base comprises socially responsible companies, non-profits, and government entities. LinkedIn
Education: I hold a master’s degree in Communications Management and a bachelor’s in Public Relations, with a minor in Political Science. I received my Accreditation in Public Relations and have continued graduate studies in Organizational Behavior.
Volunteer: I currently serve as an Advisor with the Olympia Snowe Women's Leadership Institute and as a Trustee at Portland Stage.
I previously also served as Deputy Chapter Leader of the Maine chapter of Moms Demand Action, but was required to step down from that leadership role as I pursued running for office. (View an MSNBC clip of my speaking about the vital role that civic engagement has in tackling our most pressing issues.)
Giving back to the community and volunteering was instilled in me from a young age and is now a core value being instilled in my daughter. Some of our family’s favorite organizations to support include: Chickadeeds, MaineNeeds, Wayside, and the Animal Refuge League (which is also where our rescue pup came from).
